A photo of a letter supposed to be what former President Donald Trump left for new President Joe Biden has been circulated thousands of times online. The letter in the photo reads:

"Joe, you know I won."

It is true that Trump left a letter to Biden, but according to Reuters, this letter that is circulating on the network is false.

Trump took part in the presidential tradition of leaving a letter to the successor, but the content has not been revealed so far. President Biden told reporters at the White House on January 20, the day of his inauguration, that:

"The president wrote a very generous letter. But because it was private, I will not discuss it until I talk to him [Trump]."

There are also signs that the paper was created using image editing software. The presidential stamp on the forged letter does not match those found in previous letters sent by Trump's White House. Letters from Trump to North Korea's Kim Jong Un in 2018 and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan in 2019 had a gold crest at the top of the letter. The fake letter circulating on the network has a colored stamp that matches the search results on Wikipedia for the "Stamp of the President of the United States."

This fake letter also has an address at the end, unlike previous letters from the former president.

As a result, Reuters confirms that this letter has numerous style inconsistencies compared to previous letters sent by Trump's White House.
