A fugitive mobster has been caught by police in the Caribbean, where he has been hiding for some time, and his YouTube channel has become the cause. Marc Feren Claude Biart, 53, lived a quiet life in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic, with the local Italian community.
He was betrayed by the YouTube channel where he showed off his skills of cooking Italian food. His face was not shown in the published videos, but the tattoos on his body made him identify by the police.
Biart had been on the run since 2014, when Italian prosecutors ordered his arrest for cocaine trafficking in the Netherlands, on behalf of the Ndrangheta mafia Cacciola clan.

Based in Calabria, Ndrangheta is considered to be one of the most powerful crime syndicates in the world because of its control over most of the cocaine entering Europe. It has spread its activity to all parts of the world and has long surpassed the Cosa Nostra of Sicily, as Italy's largest mafia organization.
Another Ndrangheta mobster was arrested in Portugal on Monday. Francesco Pelle, who had been on the run for 14 years and was considered one of Italy's most dangerous fugitives, was tracked down at a clinic in Lisbon, where he was receiving treatment for Covid-19.
In 2019, police arrested a Camorra mobster, Marco Di Lauro, while he was eating pasta with two cats sitting next to him, in an apartment on the outskirts of Naples. Di Lauro was also on the run for 14 years.
