The EU will receive a higher price for Pfizer vaccines as part of a new dosing contract for 2022.

The news was announced by the Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, who added: "The Pfizer vaccine cost 12 euros, but now the EU for 2022 and 2023 signs contracts for 900 million doses of vaccines at a price of 19.5 euros."

The EU has said that information on prices and contracts is confidential, but a commission official has confirmed that the EU is concluding contracts to keep 2 billion vaccines in stock over the next two years, foreign media write.

According to the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, "now we are more afraid of the French mutation. "There will be many more variations, because € 19.50 for 900 million will cost almost 18 billion euros in total," he said, adding that experts should set aside more money for future vaccines.
