The famous Italian singer, Milva, has passed away at the age of 81. She died yesterday in Milan and the news was confirmed by her daughter, Martina Corgnati, for ANSA, explaining that her mother had been ill for some time. The great singer and actress, whose real name was Ilvia Maria Biolcati, lived in Milan with her trusted secretary, Edith, and her daughter Martina, an art critic.
Milva was known by the nickname "La Rossa" for the red color of her hair. She has toured the scenes worldwide making more than 60 albums.
Born in Goro, Emilia Romagna, on July 17, 1939, during her career she has participated 15 times in the Sanremo Festival, a record of participations that she holds together with Peppino Di Capri, Toto Cutugno and Al Bano.
In 2010, after releasing the third album written and produced for him by Franco Battiato, entitled 'Non conosco nessun Patrizio', it immediately became one of the 20 best-selling albums breaking records in Italy. This album also announced her farewell on stage, after half a century of career.
The family is currently organizing the final farewell and the funeral will be held privately.
One month ago, on March 26, Milva received the coronavirus vaccine, delivering an important message to all.
