Ellen DeGeneres has announced the end of her show, after 19 seasons.

"I really felt that next season was the right time to close it. The truth is that I always trust my instincts. My instinct told me it was the right time," she says in the new episode of the show.

She did not mention the allegations of a toxic work environment that put the show at the center of criticism last year.

Three manufacturers have since lost their jobs and DeGeneres apologized publicly last September. The 63-year-old had announced that she would close the show after the 19th season, in 2022, before the scandal broke out.

"Two years ago, I signed a contract for another 3 years and I always knew in my heart that season 19 would be the last," she said in the episode that will air today. "I want you to know that I have thought a lot about this decision. I sat for a while. I meditated on him. "

Yesterday, she told the Hollywood Reporter that no matter how wonderful and fun that show is, it is no longer a challenge. She said last year 's claims that the show's job was "dominated by fear" were not a factor in her decision to end it.

"If I had left the show because of this, I would not be back this season," she said, while admitting she was devastated as she saw that everything she had worked for was being attacked.

Ellen's show has won more than 60 Daytime Emmy Awards. The Ellen Show has aired since September 2003 and has produced more than 3,000 episodes.
