Many girls grow up thinking about the day they will become mothers. Many others never think of this part until a certain stage of life. But when a mother admits she was not sure she ever wanted to be a mother, the topic may be taboo. Singer Pink has been shown to be willing to break this taboo and has spoken openly about all mothers who may not have always been sure they wanted to have children.

In an interview to promote her new documentary, All I Know So Far, Pink spoke to the TODAY Show and shared her journey as the mother of Willow, 9, and Jameson, 4.

"I really did not want to be a mother. It just was not on the list of things I wanted to do," Pink said.

It can be hard to imagine, as Pink is often seen as a devoted mother of her two children. The singer has included children in her public life, taking them with her on her world tour in 2019. While recently she did a duet with her daughter, Willow, in the song "Cover Me In Sunshine". Also, she often shares exciting and hilarious moments on social media with her children.

However, just because she is a wonderful mother, does not mean that she is something she aspired to - and many women can find themselves in this. Pink's perspective changed radically when she brought her daughter to life.

"When Willow came… you know that expression 'Watching your heart coming out of the body.' It really feels that way," she said.

Pink showed that her children have a normal childhood. James wants to become an astronaut while Willow does gymnastics, reads Harry Potter and she is convinced she will go to Hogwarts when she turns 11 years old. Pink, like all mothers, has no heart to tell her that this can not happen.

However, the singer adds that she tries to keep the children with their feet on the ground.
