Actor Brad Pitt was given joint custody of his five minor children with his ex-partner, actress Angelina Jolie, in an early decision, sources confirmed to NBC News.
Pitt, who split from Jolie in 2016, made a request to adjust the current custody agreement, to allow him more time with the children, according to two sources familiar with the situation.
According to international media reports, it is learned that Judge John Ouderkik decided that the custody of the 5 minor children of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie be divided 50-50, while the decision does not apply to their 19-year-old son, Madoxx.
According to the tabloid "TMZ", actress Jolie did not welcome this decision, while the 57-year-old seems to be very happy. The actress had asked to take custody alone, but the judge had not believed the phrases that Brad is not a devoted parent to the children.
The judge made the decision after many months of detailed investigation by child professionals. Following the announcement of the decision, Brad Pitt has the opportunity to spend more time with his children.
Jolie said last year in an interview with Vogue that she split from Pitt for the well-being of her family.
"It was the right decision, " she said. " Children see lies about themselves in the media, but they know the truth. In fact, they are six very brave, very strong young people."
Pitt spoke openly shortly after their split about making the decision to quit drinking and narcotics saying he no longer wanted to live that way.
