The internationally known writer, Ismail Kadare, was awarded the title "Honor of the Municipality of Fier", with the motivation: " For the extraordinary contribution he has given over the years to Albanian literature and for its promotion to the highest levels of world culture." .
" I am happy to be among you, believe me for the writer, no matter how heard he is, the love of the reader is dear, therefore I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this beautiful, warm and so Albanian reception" , - said Kadare.
The award was presented to him in the theater hall by the mayor " Armando Subashi ". The genius of Albanian letters spoke excitedly, as he returned to the city of Fier after 30 years, this time as an honorary citizen.
