Malnutrition in childhood leaves permanent consequences on both physical development and mental capacity, making them when they grow up subject only to food needs.

An INSTAT study on the well-being of children and adolescents for the period 2016-2018 has found that about 40% of children in this period have been deprived of eating at least one meal a day of meat, fish, beans or lentils, as families they cannot afford it.

The study reports that also over 31% of children do not have the opportunity to eat fruits and vegetables at least once a day, whether fresh or processed.

Albanian children are also deprived of other activities that affect their healthy development such as clothing, entertainment and activities outside the home.

Over 40% of children do not regularly participate in outdoor activities for a long time, such as sports, music, etc., while more than 18% of them do not have access to toys suitable for their age.

Over 28% of children have no opportunity to invite friends home or consume something with them outside.

Also 17% of children do not have the opportunity to have at least one new outfit.
More than half of the children, about 54% of them, do not have the opportunity to go on vacation one week a year, even going to a relative.

Also more than a third of children have difficulty in supporting infrastructure to study.

More than 39% of children do not have the opportunity to attend extracurricular activities as they can not afford to pay extra and 28% of children do not have a suitable space at home to study./Monitor/
