Sarah Grant, 71, dressed in a swimsuit on the runway of Australian Fashion Week.
"Wearing bathing suits was not a problem for me because 70 is 50. We are all healthier and live longer now. You only have one body so you should be proud of it. It is about empowering yourself and to others, whatever your shape, size or age, ”Grant said
Her first catwalk appearance was for Pierre Cardin in New Zealand, at the age of 16.
Grant says the modeling industry has changed tremendously since she took a break from her 60s.
"There were no hair and make-up artists when I started: we all had to have big bags for products and clothes in order to adjust ourselves. '
"We all had a regular weight. We had to measure 10 0se 12. When the super skinny look came into vogue, it was really tragic for the business and a lot of girls ended up with problems because of it. "
Grant, who has also recently appeared in campaigns for Australian brands Camilla and Aje, says she still enjoys working as a model.
