Prince Harry's son Archie will never become a prince under his grandfather's plan for a limited monarchy, a new report said.

Prince Charles, who is expected to be Britain's next king, is determined to limit the number of major kings in an effort to meet his future goals - under which he will not pay for a bloated monarchy. The news was published yesterday by The Daily Mail.

Charles told his son he would change key documents to prevent Archie from inheriting the title, which would once have been his birthright, the article said. The little one is currently seventh in line for the throne.

"Harry and Meghan were told that Archie would never be a prince, even when Charles becomes king," the tabloid source said.

The report also said that Meghan and Harry did not welcome the news, although the couple decided to leave their royal duties to live in the US. This is said to have further aggravated the relationship between Harry and Buckingham Palace.

Under Charles' plan, only the heirs to the throne and their immediate relatives would receive full titles and taxpayer-funded financial and police support, Mail said.

Charles and his younger brother Prince Andrew have also had disagreements over what Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie should get in the future. The princesses are in tenth and eleventh place respectively in the line of inheritance, after the birth of Harry's daughter, Lilibet Diana, this month.
