When Salma Hayek first went to the doctor to see the signs of menopause, she was shocked by the possible symptoms they listed.
"The questions were terrifying, " the 54-year-old actress said in the latest episode of Red Table Talk. "They were asking me things like, 'Have your ears grown? Are your mustaches and beards growing? Are you getting irritated quickly? Are you crying for no reason? Are you gaining more weight for no reason? And then there are questions such as: 'Is your vagina dry?' "
But the symptom that surprised Hayek the most when she started going through menopause was one thing they had not mentioned - that her breasts would grow.
"Their size is growing a lot," she said. "For some women, they get smaller. But there are some women that when you gain weight, your breasts grow, and other women that when you have children and breastfeed your breasts grow and then in some cases at menopause they grow again. And I happen to be one of those women whose breast augmentation has happened at every step!
Hayek said that over the years, as her weight fluctuated during pregnancy and now in menopause, people thought she had undergone plastic surgery.
"A lot of people say I had surgery on my chest, I don't blame them! It was much smaller than that!"

But Hayek stressed that aging is not a problem.
"There is no expiration date for women," she said. "You can hold yourself at any age, you can dream at any age, you can be romantic at any age. We are not just to have babies, we are not just to take care of the husband. We are not just to serve everything and everyone around us. "It's a misunderstanding that has existed for centuries."
