As of today, the 10,000 Lekë banknote will be released on the market, which according to the Governor of the Bank of Albania has additional security elements, such as holograms and security thread that changes color in different lighting angles, but may fall prey to counterfeit production. . How to tell if a new banknote is fake or real?

The head of the mission department at the Bank of Albania, Alba Gjoka, has shown in the show "Ditë e Re" the steps we need to follow, to understand if the 10,000 lek banknote is fake.

"The 10 thousand lek banknote has security elements in greater numbers than other banknotes. The Bank of Albania instructs the public to find out if a banknote is real, through 3 steps: Touch-View-Move.

1. If you touch it, the 10 thousand lek banknote is the only banknote that has a raised print on both sides. If you touch it on both sides it is stiff. This specificity has only the denomination of 10 thousand ALL.

2. Look - means that you have to point the banknote at a light source and look at the water figure. It is a space that looks like it is empty, but it is not really empty. If you put it in the light it is the water figure. Apart from the main portrait, Asdren, there is also a nominal value of 10 thousand ALL and figures, so there are three figures within this small space called the water portrait.

3. Move the banknote towards a light source. If you move it against the light you will see the safety thread, which changes color. We will look at the hologram bar, which looks like large silver stamps, but if they move towards the light, the color changes as well as the appearance of the stamp. "We also have the pen book, which changes color when it moves against the light."
