Actress Amber Heard, Johnny Depp's ex-partner, has announced that she welcomed her first child, a girl named Oonagh Paige, earlier this year.

She shared the news with her 3.9 million followers on Instagram on Thursday night, saying she wanted to have a baby in the conditions in which she is.

"I'm very excited to share this news with you," she wrote, along with a photo showing her holding the baby on her chest.

"4 years ago, I decided I wanted to have a baby. And I wanted to have it on my own terms! Now I appreciate how radical it is for us women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destiny this way.

Hopefully we can get to a point where it's normal that you don't necessarily need a finger ring to have a baby. I want to point out that my private life does not work for anyone. I also realize that the nature of my work forces me to take control. My daughter was born on April 8, 2021. Her name is Oonagh Paige Heard. It is the beginning of the rest of my life.

After splitting from Depp, she has spoken openly about her same-sex sexual orientation. She was said to be in a relationship with her lawyer. The media say that the girl was born by a surrogate mother, but Amber herself did not talk about it.
