Singer Amy Winehouse died of alcoholism at the age of 27 in July 2011. A new BBC documentary dedicated to music star 'Reclaiming Amy' features statements from people closest to her and an interview with the singer , in which she was asked where she wanted to be for 10 years. She is heard to say that she dreamed of having children.
"I would like to have some children, two or three," she says.
Even her friend Catriona Gourlay confirmed that she wanted to become a mother.
Elsewhere in the documentary, Catriona talked about her relationship with Amy. The two friends lived together. While close friends have confirmed that they slept together.
"She wrote notes while I was sleeping, saying things like, 'You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen,' and, 'How can you look as beautiful in sleep as you look when you'm awake.' Our relationship was so unique. Unspecified. We just loved each other very much.
Her friends have also confessed that Amy was trying to hide her other problems, through alcohol. She did not want to admit that she had mental health problems because she thought they would lock her up somewhere.
"She basically switched from one addiction to another, quit drugs for alcohol and that was the problem," said Amy's stylist Naomi Parry. "Addiction was a by-product of something much deeper. She did not want to admit that she had mental health problems because it was a time when people did not understand. She thought they would turn it on if they realized she had mental health problems. . "
Amy's mother, Janis Winehouse, confessed that only now does she realize how little they understood Amy and the fact that she could not manage to give up her addictions on her own.
