Princess Beatrice and her partner Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have welcomed a baby girl, who was born on Saturday.

The Queen's granddaughter gave birth to her first child at Chelsea Hospital, Westminster.

Buckingham Palace said the princess and her daughter are in good condition and the baby’s grandparents and great-grandparents are experiencing happy moments.

The girl will be the 11th in line for the throne and is the Queen's 12th granddaughter.

In a Twitter post, the princess said she was "very happy to share the news of the girl's safe arrival", thanking the midwife team and everyone in the hospital for their wonderful care.
