Gwyneth Paltrow recalled the difficult experience of giving birth to her daughter, Apple Martin. She discovered for the first time that she almost died during childbirth.

The actress talked about the two cesarean sections she had for the delivery of her two children, 17 and 15 years ago, operations that have left a big mark on her.

"My daughter was an emergency, she was insane, we almost died," she told the Armchair Expert podcast on Monday. "However, there is a big mark on your body, and you think, 'Oh wow, that's like it wasn't there.'

Speaking of the postpartum period, Paltrow stopped criticizing social media for setting unrealistic expectations in postpartum women.

"Thank God there was no Instagram when I gave birth to the kids, because now people are: 'Oh, I just gave birth two weeks ago and I have a completely flat belly,' and I say, 'Wow that doesn't look like me.' "Without prejudice, but now we are fed up with all these images that show how we should look all the time - with or without babies."
