Ed Sheeran has revealed that he had doubts about his sexuality when he was a child and 'thought he was gay'.

The Bad Habits singer is married to his childhood girlfriend Cherry Seaborn and they have a 15-month-old daughter, Lyra.

However, Ed said he was convinced he was attracted to men, as he enjoyed so-called 'feminine' activities, such as watching music and listening to pop music.

Speaking on the Dutch podcast 'Man', the singer revealed: "I have a certain feminine side, to the point that when I was a child I thought I was a bit gay.

"I definitely have a big feminine side. I love musical theater, I love pop music, I love Britney Spears. '

He added: "My male side probably stops drinking beer and watching football."

"I'm not a car guy. I like to have a nice car, but I'm not a car type. '

It seems to be the first time the singer has publicly revealed his previous suspicions about sexuality.

At another point in the podcast, Ed shared a tip for starting a family and told podcast executives not to wait long for a baby to be born, as he and Cherry went through a challenge, trying, until Cherry got pregnant.

They welcomed their first child, daughter Lyra, in August 2020, more than two years after the couple secretly married.
