The last words of Halyna Hutchins, who lost her life accidentally, have been revealed in the filming of Rust.
The Los Angeles Times has new details about the incident, on October 21, when Alec Baldwin shot the filmmaker while proving what he thought was a "cold" weapon.
The "cold" weapon, which was not supposed to have a bullet, actually had one. After the shot, someone shouted, Hutchins, which was hit first, fell to the ground immediately, and behind it fell director Joel Souza.
"What happened?" Baldwin asked as the bullet rang out through the church. It was a phrase he said over and over again as tragic scenes unfolded, the report notes.
Hutchins fell into the arms of electrician, Serge Svetnoy. Blood was dripping from his chest as there were incoming and outgoing wounds and crew members tried to stop the bleeding. Souza, who was behind her, was holding her shoulder because the bullet that went through Hutchins's body went into his.
"What the hell was that? She's burning me!" Souza shouted.
A doctor, Cherlyn Schaefer, was called, while an operator assisting Hutchins looked her in the eye and said, "Oh, that's not good."
Hutchins replied, "No, this is not good. This is not good at all."
Baldwin lowered his gun to a church bench as he stared in horror at his two bloodied colleagues and repeated, "What happened?"
Hutchins died a few hours later after being airlifted to hospital. She left behind her husband, Matthew, and a son. Souza was treated at the hospital and was released a day later.
