A broadcaster using the name @squidgame says she is losing her job because people think she is related to the Netflix show.

Lydia Ellery uses the title @squidgame on Twitch and @squidgaming on Twitter. She also uses @squidgame on Instagram and says she has had her name there for about 11 years.

She wrote on Twitter on Tuesday that she may need to change her name after losing two possible jobs as a result of her apparent connection to the successful show.

" It seems that in the end I may have to change my title. I missed 2 amazing presentation opportunities because people do not want to hire me with my "squid game" title.

Ellery, 32, previously said she was temporarily banned from her Instagram account after the show was published. She thought this happened because people were either trying to report the account or log in. She has since regained access.

Ellery said Thursday: "First they send me abusive comments, then they ban me, now I'm losing my job."

The Netflix dystopian show is about a group of people competing in a series of deadly children's games to earn enough money to pay off their debts. Shortly after its release, it became Netflix's most-watched series.
