The founder of the luxury brand Off-White and the artistic director of men's clothing in Louis Vuitton, has passed away at the age of 41 from a long battle with cancer.

One of the most influential designers of his generation, Abloh has been battling the disease for more than two years said 'LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton' in a statement on Sunday.

" We are all shocked by this terrible news. "Virgil was not only a genius designer, a visionary, he was also a man of beautiful spirit and extraordinary wisdom," said Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive of LVMH in a statement.

The bitter news has shocked thousands of Abloh fans around the world.

In 2019, he was diagnosed with a severe form of cancer, but the whole battle he chose to do in complete privacy.

Abloh, 41, entered the fashion industry at Fendi with Kanye West. The two began an artistic collaboration that would mark the beginning of his career through the creation of "Off White".

Abloh was the first American of African descent to have been the director of a luxury French fashion house.

In 2018, it is listed in the 100 most influential people in the world. He is survived by his wife and two children.
