Puerto Rican producer Flow La Movie has passed away at the age of 38 in a plane crash.

The well-known producer and artist, whose real name is José Angel Hernandez, was 1 of 7 passengers on a private plane that crashed Wednesday near Las Américas International Airport in the Dominican Republic. Among the victims are his partner Debbie Von Marie Jimenez Garcia and their son. The plane had departed for Florida.

The company that owned the private jet turned to social media to confirm the crash and the names of the victims. The cause of the collision was not immediately known.

Flow La Movie was the man hiding behind top chart hits, like "Te Boté", who topped Hot Latin Songs for 14 weeks. "Dakiti's" 27 weeks at number 1 and "Mia", with Drake, who topped the list for 16 weeks.

He also produced Nio García "AM" and the viral hit "La Jeepeta". As an artist he was listed with "Travesuras"; the song peaked at number 9 on the Hot Latin Songs chart (March 27) and also hit number 1 on Latin Airplay, Latin Rhythm Airplay and Tropical Airplay on the March 6 charts.

With more than 10 years in the industry, Flow La Movie launched its indie label and management agencies that sign artists like Nio Garcia, Casper Magico and Xound.
