The latest WHO report states that distant physical work affects mental health, back pain, social isolation and constant stress from loneliness.

"When properly organized and supported, distance work can have a positive effect on an employee's physical and mental health and social life. However, when the risks to the health and safety of remote work are not avoided and workers can not make healthy choices while working remotely, this type of work can have significant negative health effects, "- said in a statement WHO.

The WHO, among other things, points out that prolonged work on the computer with a remote connection can result in musculoskeletal damage and eye strain, affecting the mental health of workers, as it contributes to stress.

Among other risks to physical health, the WHO emphasizes intolerance to heat, lighting, safety of electronic devices, and air quality in employees' homes.

While the WHO emphasizes that mental health risks are based mainly on the job preferences of employees. It warns of the possibility of social isolation, loneliness, anxiety and guilt.

The study also found that working remotely resulted in an increase in the number of internal and peer conflicts. The WHO and the International Labor Organization (ILO) are calling for critical changes to protect workers' health, as they are likely to continue working from home after the pandemic, as workers and employers have seen some benefits from this new employment regime. ./WHO/
