Every time you drink lemon water, do you think you feel 'really' healthy or not? Especially in cases where you refuse any kind of carbonated or alcoholic beverage, if you are in a restaurant. But do you know what happens every time you add lemon to water? And do you know that this way you choose in bars or restaurants can do you more harm than good?
There are some arguments to keep in mind, because they are the result of many bacteria accumulated in the lemon as a result of not washing it.
According to a study conducted by a microbiologist in New Jersey (but also other similar studies), the lemon served in restaurants (or bars) has so many bacteria that they even exceed their maximum number. Many of these bacteria are found in feces, according to the study. These microorganisms can also be transmitted to the meat or fish with lemon consumed in the restaurant, if the hands that have previously touched them are unwashed.
Shocking, but true. But if you are in the group of people who do not drink lemon water in bars or restaurants, then you do not have to worry. Also, if you have a healthy immune system, you will probably still feel good and without problems (but do not forget that there are many restaurants or bars that do not follow the health rules set by the IPH). However, if you are at home, experts always suggest lemon water to remove the harmful bacteria you get from any foreign food.
So, if you are in love with lemon, use it as much as possible at home!
