A young American managed to stay away from social media for 6 years, after a bet he placed with his mother when he was 12 years old.

Sivert Klefsaas, writes CNN, accepted the challenge of his mother Lorna Goldstrand Klefsaas in 2016 that if he stayed away from social networks until he was 18 he would earn 1800 dollars.

"I thought it was fantastic. "What are 6 years for me", Sivert tells what he was thinking at the moment of setting the challenge.
On February 19, he completed the challenge term and pocketed $ 1,800.

His mother, Lorna says she was inspired by a radio show where she heard a mother proposing to her 16-year-old daughter to stay 4 years away from social media for $ 1,600.
