Jada Pinkett Smith posted a message on Instagram, this morning, stating that "this is a season for recovery". This one day after the incident on the night of the Oscars.
"And I'm here for that," Pinkett Smith added in the post, which did not refer directly to the incident, which came after Rock made a joke about Pinkett Smith 's shaved head referring to the GI Jane movie.
The actress revealed in 2018 that she was diagnosed with the autoimmune disorder alopecia, which causes hair loss.
While Will Smith initially seemed to be laughing jokingly, shortly after Pinkett Smith was filmed rolling his eyes, Smith hurried out on stage and hit Rock, who was visibly shaken by the attack.
Shortly afterwards, Smith won the Oscar for Best Actor and during a tear-filled speech he apologized to the Academy and his nominated colleagues, but, no doubt, to Rock.
On Monday, Smith posted an Instagram apology to Rock, in which he wrote:
" Violence in all its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at the Oscars was unacceptable and unforgivable. Jokes on my back are part of the job, but a joke about Jada's health was too much for me and I reacted emotionally. I would like to apologize publicly to you, Chris. I was off the line and I made a mistake. I'm embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. "There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."
