Legendary designer Bob Mackie told Entertainment Weekly that he was not impressed with Kim Kardashian wearing Marilyn Monroe's iconic Jean Louis 1962 dress at the Met Gala 2022. Mackie, who worked as a fashion assistant for Jean Louis early in his career his, had a few words chosen for Kim Kardashian.
"I thought it was a big mistake. [Marilyn] was a goddess. A crazy goddess, but a goddess. She was just fabulous. And the dress was made for her. It was designed for him. "No one else should be seen in that dress," he said.
Mackie, now 82, drew the sketch for the design when he was just 22 years old.
This is not the first time the stylist, who also created the famous vehement for Cher, criticizes the Kardashian family.
In 2021, he told Page Six that, "Kardashians are very attractive, and some are very beautiful, but they are just famous for being famous."
"Some of them have copied Cher's clothes in every detail, which is interesting. It's like fare leave it at all ... I made those designs so many years ago that I do not worry about copying them or anything. "It's kind of a compliment, really."
However, it does not appear that he took as compliments the dress of Monroe's dress by Kim on the red carpet of the Met Gala 2022.
