Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra triumphed at Eurovision this year in Turin. After the important musical event, they auctioned the trophy that was sold for a full 900 thousand dollars. As they made known, the money earned all went in support of the Ukrainian army.

Today, Kalush Orchestra gave an interview for the show "Today" on Euronews Albania. The singer of the group, Oleh Psiuk admitted that it is true that the trophy was sold for that amount.

"Yes, yes, we sold our Eurovision cup for 900 thousand dollars and all the money was spent on the needs of the Ukrainian military."

As for the news that the group went to war immediately after the end of Eurovision, Psiuk said that they are false. He said the gang is on an international tour of Europe, where they continue to raise funds for the Ukrainian army.

"This is fake news, because we are holding our international tour and we are in Europe. We are raising funds for the army. We are happy to have the opportunity to introduce Ukraine and raise the spirit of Ukrainians. "People have supported us a lot," he said, thanking all voters.

The singer spoke about the situation in Ukraine, saying that it continues to be aggravated.

"The situation in Ukraine is still dire. We talk to our people there every day. The war continues. Rockets continue to fly over the Ukrainian skies. "Our whole society and our relatives continue to stay in Ukraine," he said.

Psiuk said he is confident that the next Eurovision Song Contest will take place in a rebuilt, free and happy Ukraine.
