Dakota Johnson wants nothing to do with the legal situation of her ex-partner Johnny Depp.
For the past two months, the actor and Amber Heard's defamation case has gripped the world, and a video, titled "The exact moment Dakota Johnson knew Amber Heard was violent towards Johnny Depp," went viral on the Internet.
In the clip, Depp appeared to show Johnson his injured finger while they were promoting Black Mass at the 2015 Venice Film Festival. The attention caused Johnson to fear she might be called to testify.
"I was like, 'Oh my God, why? Why am I involved in this?'" she told Vanity Fair. "I don't remember that at all, but please get me out of this. Don't let this go any further. Can you imagine, oh, my God, if I was called to the witness stand?"
During the trial, Depp testified that his cut finger was allegedly caused by Heard during a fight they had in Australia in March 2015. Depp claimed that Heard threw a vodka bottle at him and it broke on his hand. Hears denied the charge.
Johnson, on the other hand, was shocked to see how many people were connected to the case.
"I can't believe people are watching [the trial] like it's a show," she told the magazine. "It's like a courtroom drama and my heart breaks. It's so, so, so crazy. People are so weird. The internet is a wild place."
In her new interview, Johnson also discussed the cancellation culture trend. She did not mention Depp or Heard by name, but argued that people can evolve and change over time.
