American actress, Anne Heche, is reported to have been taken to the hospital in critical condition after a car crash. The actress' vehicle was engulfed in flames leaving her with major injuries.
The incident happened Friday morning in the Mar Vista area of ??Los Angeles, near Heche's home.
The actress' blue Mini Cooper struck a two-story home and burst into flames, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
" It took fifty-nine firefighters 65 minutes to enter, contain and completely extinguish the intense flames inside the heavily damaged structure," the LAFD report said.
" A woman was found inside the vehicle, who was taken to an area hospital in critical condition," the report further states.
The official statement confirmed to the PA news agency that the vehicle had entered the apartment 30 meters away, but the passenger had escaped unhurt.
The 53-year-old actress is the former partner of American talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, and is known for films such as 'Donnie Brasco', 'Cedar Rapids' and 'Psycho'.
