Metallica's James Hetfield and his wife Francesca Hetfield have ended their long marriage after the rocker filed for divorce.
Sources close to the couple have told TMZ that James, since the beginning of the year, has been seen in Colorado to file for divorce.
James Hetfield and Francesca Hetfield married in 1997 after 5 years of dating. Since then, they have given birth to three children; daughters Cali, 24 years old, Marcella, 20 years old, and son Castor, 22 years old.
Hetfield, 59, has credited his ex-wife, 52, for helping him bounce back after struggling with alcohol and depression for a period of time. In an interview with Joe Rogan in 2017, Hetfield said: 'Fear was a huge motivator at the time for me. The fear of losing my family was the thing that scared me so much that I almost thought of the end. The thought of my family leaving because of my behavior was driving me crazy….'
