A study at the University of Coventry in England aimed to find out whether sexual activity after 50 can help improve mental clarity.
6,800 men and women, from 50 to 80 years old, participated in the study. They answered questions about the frequency of sex and also underwent a test of mathematical and language skills.
The men's performance on the numeracy and memory tests appeared to be directly related to the frequency of sex. As for women, only their performance in language tests was related to sexual activity.
"There are many possibilities that the results of the study have to do with the hormones that the brain produces when we have sex, hormones that affect our cognitive functions", said Hayley Wright, who participated in the study.
Sex helps us relax, cleanse our immune system and sleep better.
So why not... take a chance?
