
The mountain tea cake recipe is one of the oldest traditions of preparation in some areas of Albania.
Suitable to accompany the breakfast meal as well as dinner.
Tea cake is a mixture between the cottony softness of the dough, the pleasant aroma of tea and the strong taste of nuts and grapes.
It is without a doubt the right recipe to sweeten yourself at any time.
How to make tea cake.
Ingredients
150 g of walnuts
150 g of raisins (optional)
225 ml of warm mountain tea
1 squeezed orange (75ml)
50 grams of butter
100 grams of sugar
1 egg
225 grams of flour
Preparation
Before starting to prepare the dough, prepare the mountain tea and squeeze the orange juice.
Put the nuts, raisins, hot tea and orange juice in a bowl.
You can also add some grated orange peel to this mixture for more flavor.
Cover the container and let it rest for 2-3 hours.
Heat the stove to 180/160 degrees while beating the butter and sugar until you get a creamy mass.
Then add the egg and continue mixing by adding the flour little by little.
Make sure the flour does not form lumps while mixing.
When the dough is completely creamy, add the tea with nuts and raisins.
Pour the batter into a cake pan and bake for about 1 hour.
Test from time to time if the cake is baked by inserting the tip of the knife into its center, if the cake is ready the tip of the knife will remain clean.
After you have baked it, let it cool and serve it in small slices./aw/
