Elon Musk broke the silence on the issue of leaving his daughter Vivian, four months after changing the name and gender of the 18-year-old. Tesla's CEO told the Financial Times in a recent interview that his son's decision to distance himself from him was influenced by "neo-Marxists" in educational institutions.
"It's complete communism and a general feeling that if you're rich, you're bad," said the 51-year-old, without specifying which institutions he was referring to.
The entrepreneur noted that his strained relationship with Vivian may change in the future.
The SpaceX founder and his ex-wife Justine Wilson have daughter Vivien, as well as sons Griffin, 18, and Saxon, Kai and Damian, 16.
He is also father to son X AE A-XII, 2, and daughter Exa, 10 months, with Grimes. In November 2021, he also welcomed twins with Shivon Zilis.
"I have very good relationships with everyone else," Musk said of his large family. "We can't win everyone's hearts."
In June, news broke that Vivian had filed to change her name and gender, requesting that her last name be Wilson instead of Musk. In the filing, the teenager justified her decision as a consequence of her "gender identity and the fact that she no longer lives with or wishes to be related to the biological father [Elon] in any way or shape."
