Ayurvedic diet

When the foods are almost running out, most of us may still have some frozen. From an ethical point of view, I don't like waste. Nutritionally, I say this: If it comes out of the freezer moldy, throw it away.

The Ayurvedic diet is a plant-based diet, prepared with medicinal spices, which can be included in every meal. It is not strictly vegetarian. Personal choice and nutritional needs must be taken into consideration.

Hari elaichi (green cardamom) is a source of supplements that aid digestion and lower blood pressure. It is anti-inflammatory as well.

Next is jeera powder. This earthy spice accompanies hearty recipes like soups and is a good source of fiber, phosphorus, potassium, copper, calcium, iron, magnesium and manganese. Studies on it reveal potential health benefits in fighting diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood sugar and drug addiction. It fights bacteria and parasites, strengthens your immune system and aids in weight loss.

Last but not the least is lal mirch (red chili) powder. It is a source of vitamin C and potassium. It's good for your immune system and heart health, and it's pretty tasty when you throw it on salmon.

Medicinal spices are like sprinkling fairy dust on your health.

Vitamins

The quality of the vitamins you take is essential. The internal pathway of nutrients is complicated. The richer in vitamins your food is, the happier the cells will be. I recommend clean, organic foods because they strengthen the immune system, have vitamin D3 and zinc. When you get them organic, they contain 96% nutritional value, while when they are processed, only 6%.

Mental health clarity

Now let's get inside your mind a little. I know we are all worried. But we have complete control over our thoughts. You will not grind the same thoughts again. You will learn which thoughts to keep and which to let go. You will meditate! Did I add to your fears? Honestly, I do not understand this fear. You have a lot to worry about and trying to stay calm is not one of them.

Think outside the box. There are plenty of unemployed dance instructors out there who are happy to offer us a virtual class, I imagine. Our bodies will thank us for the movement. Our brain will thank us for challenging ourselves with a new skill. Perspective is the skill we need.

National Geographic may be the most knowledgeable and reliable source you can find for specific information in any field. The most specific knowledge we need now is guidance about our health. We are each an integral element of the whole. This knowledge should lift our spirits. One of us will clear the waters and the skies. Raised spirits means a raised immune system.

Choosing to follow the loudest voice instead of the most knowledgeable voice is when you start to slide into territory so dangerous that a virus could take you.

Security is your main concern now. Your health care practitioners are your allies. A patient's individual health care plan is based on their unique constitution, existing health, lifestyle and personal needs. Good health is in your hands first and then in the hands of medicine.

With a healthy mind, we have the power to control our thoughts. With a healthy body, we have the power to act on them. With a healthy soul, we have the opportunity to act with dignity.
