Current LA Galaxy midfielder and former Barcelona teammate of Gerard Pique, Riqui Puig, is part of the reason why the defender split with his ex-partner Shakira.
Pique met his current girlfriend, Clara Chia, from Puig and the young Spaniard regularly accompanied Pique on nights out in Barcelona, ??which led to the breakdown of his long-term relationship with Shakira.
Puig's girlfriend was Gemma Iglesias and it turns out she was a friend of Chia's. She introduced Pique to Chia during a night out.
After Shakira confirmed her partner's infidelity through detectives, the singer confirmed that her partner had a relationship before June 4, when the separation was made official. In fact, there is visual evidence of them together dating back to February.
