40-year-old Albanian Florand Shehu who stabbed his 31-year-old wife Anisa to death in July 2021 has been sentenced by the Greek court to life in prison.
Greek media write that the young man declared before the investigative group that after committing the crime, he went out for a walk to clear his mind.
"I killed my wife inside the apartment we lived in. I was crazy jealous of him," the 40-year-old confessed to police.
"Undeniably, life imprisonment, although the highest sentence, cannot accurately describe the pain and suffering the family experienced and is experiencing. Clearly, we express our satisfaction with the decision made after a co-evaluation of all the evidence presented," the victim's lawyers stated.
The scene of the death occurred in the early hours of the morning at the apartment where the couple lived in Kaminia. He worked at a bar in Trouba, and had just returned from work. Same with the 19-year-old working at a nightclub in Kallithea.
Under the influence of drugs, he pulled out the pistol he had taken from some Romanians a year ago (in his words) and shot partner twice in the head as soon as he realized what he had done, the Police announced. Police arriving at the scene found the woman dead and the perpetrator waiting for them.
