Dua Lipa reveals she suffers from 'fraudsyndrome', but what does that mean?

Albanian singer Dua Lipa, who has just completed her world tour, has spoken openly about 'heart problems', the so-called 'fraud syndrome', her biggest fear and many others in a recent interview with The Sun. The 27-year-old also revealed she prefers to take a short break from social media whenever she's working on a song.

Dua, who split with American model Anwar Hadid last December, thinks heartbreak can help a lot in songwriting. She also showed that she is inspired by artists suffering from self-doubt.

Speaking to British media, the singer told how 'impostor syndrome' helps her in writing song texts. "Many times I get so inspired by artists who have a lot of self-doubt or are in the dark. I say, 'Oh my God, do I have to feel so much pain to be good at what I do?' That's what I sometimes think, sometimes 'cheat syndrome' can make me better. Especially when I write," Dua told The Sun.

But what is dua's syndrome?

The term "fraud syndrome" was created in 1978 by psychologists Pauline Rose Clance and Suzanne Imes. In his practice as a psychotherapist, Clance had noted that many university students did not think they deserved the place at their prestigious universities or even thought the application had been wrongly accepted.

The term describes an internal experience of intellectual fraud: who suffers from impostor syndrome does not feel brilliant at all and believes they have deceived anyone who thinks otherwise. The person who is valued for his earned successes thinks he does not deserve that status or that position and lives on the fear that this supposed insufficiency will come out in everyone's eyes.

Albert Einstein, the father of relativity theory, also suffered from 'impostor syndrome', a belief that he enjoyed an undeserved assessment, almost unproportionate to his abilities.
