From tracking ovulation to taking the right supplements, pregnancy can be a complicated process. But does timing matter when you should try for this process?

We know that there is a time when the chances of fertility are highest until the next period and that is the time of ovulation which lasts three to five days.

But what is the best time of day to get pregnant?

A study found that having sex in the morning, just before 7.30am, would increase the chances of getting pregnant. Sperm quality at this time is much higher than during the rest of the day. This was proven especially in the months of March, April and May.

However, a team from the University of Modena found that the quality and quantity of men's sperm is at its highest during the afternoon hours. If you also consider that most women ovulate around dinner time, then this would be the best time to get pregnant.

With testosterone levels in men rising significantly between 6am and 9am and libido peaking between 10am and 1am, you have some good options to try to get pregnant.

As it can be difficult to remember your ovulation days if your periods are irregular, it is ideal to have sex with your partner every day or every night to increase your chances of getting pregnant. Remember, sperm is produced more and stays longer in a healthy body, so you will need to quit smoking and alcohol, and eat healthy foods if you intend to get pregnant. Most importantly, remember to have fun and don't turn sex into a routine.
