A study conducted in 2010 by the Queensland University of Technology analyzed 13,000 Caucasian women and concluded that blonde women are paid more. This assessment comes from research done in Forbes magazine. Their study concluded that blonde women earn 7% more income. That means, if you have a salary of $50,000, a blonde worker doing the same job could be paid $3,500 more than you.
This is not the only study that proved this phenomenon. An experiment conducted by Cornell University had waitresses fill out an online form about their physical characteristics, self-perceptions and income. The findings concluded that blondes collected more income than their red-haired or black-haired counterparts. But not only that. In another 60-day study, participants with dark hair were asked to change their hair color and record their tips in a real work environment. Women received significantly more advice while blonde. Blondes really do have more funds!
Blondes have higher IQs
We've all heard all kinds of jokes about blondes. But jokes about their intelligence really don't hold up. Blonde women have higher intelligence scores than women with other hair colors.
An experiment conducted at Ohio State University studied 10,878 women by measuring their intelligence. The findings were quite interesting. Of all hair colors, blondes had the highest IQ with an average of 103.2. Next were brunettes with an average IQ of 102.7. Then women with red hair at 101.2 and women with black hair at an average of 100.5. Blonde women were also more likely to be geniuses and less likely to have a low IQ than any female with other hair colors.
Blondes are more likely to hold a high position of power
Forty-eight percent (48%) of women who are executives at S&P 500 companies have blonde hair, according to a group of researchers at the Academy of Management's 2016 annual meeting (via HuffPost). And this is not just a random occurrence. Experts believe there may be more strategies or explanations behind this than most think. The blonde color is thought to give a softer look to women and may give them more success in a dominant work role.
Having blonde hair can help you get a more favorable job position, but be careful, hair color isn't everything./bm/
