Miley Cyrus can buy herself flowers - and take the world by storm with just one new song.

With "Flowers," Miley has broken Spotify records, gone viral on TikTok and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on Jan. 24, thanks in part to the song's connection to her relationship with ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.

The self-empowerment anthem was released on Hemsworth's 33rd birthday (January 13).

Fans have received several tidbits of information and created conspiracy theories about what may have happened in their relationship, ranging from infidelity to Liam's favorite movie, Joker.

Theory 1: "Flowers" is a response to a Liam song dedicated to Miley

Perhaps the most plausible theory is that Hemsworth dedicated Bruno Mars' hit ballad "When I Was Your Man" to Cyrus at some point — perhaps at their wedding or perhaps when they were no longer together — and the proof is in the lyrics.

"Flowers" appears to be a direct response to Mars' song, and that's evident in the video below.

Theory 2: Miley is wearing Liam's costume

Shortly after the video was released, a 2019 clip of Cyrus and Hemsworth at the Avengers: Endgame premiere went viral, in which the actor was shown berating his then-wife for sticking her tongue out and doing typical things of Miley Cyrus on the red carpet.
