A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 on the Richter scale was recorded in the early hours of the morning in Turkey, causing hundreds of victims and injuries, as well as colossal material damage.
The main tremor occurred around 02:16, while the epicenter was in the southeastern province of Gaziantep, on the border with Syria.
Until now, over 316 victims and thousands of injured have been reported, while the damages are incalculable.
The main tremor was followed by 50 other earthquakes, the largest of which measured 6.7 on the Richter scale.
According to reports, the tremors were felt in 10 southeastern provinces of Turkey, while the victim was also in the Syrian territory.

Local Turkish authorities have reported the collapse of dozens of buildings in Gaziantep and the nearby centers of Diyarbakir and Malatya. It is suspected that some people are trapped under the rubble. A state of emergency has been declared and all rescue services have been mobilized.
President Erdo?an immediately reacted to this event and promised the citizens that he will overcome this disaster together with them, offering help to anyone affected by the earthquake.
"We hope to overcome this disaster together, as soon as possible and with the least amount of damage. Search and rescue teams were immediately sent to the areas affected by the earthquake and other units are on standby," Erdogan wrote on social networks.
