The Parliament of Albania approved yesterday some changes in the Highway Code, in particular regarding the renewal of licenses, for drivers of all categories of vehicles.
Today, Prime Minister Edi Rama himself has posted the changes on his profile.
One of the most important changes will be to extend the validity of AM, A1, A2, A, B1, B and BE patents up to 15 years. For these certain categories, which include most vehicles and motorcycles, the renewal will be done every 15 years, from 10 years today, until the 70th anniversary.
After this age, the confirmation is done after submitting the medical certificate, while this practice is performed every 3 years before.
There are also changes for C licenses, which include trucks, where the age increases up to 70 years, up to 20 tons of weight.
Moreover, it is emphasized that citizens whose Albanian driving license has been canceled due to the effect of conversion abroad, can regain the Albanian driving license without testing, even if the foreign driving license has expired, after they surrender the latter and remove voluntarily give it up.
