During an interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast on Tuesday, May 2, the Oscar winner opened up about her relationship with ex-fiancé Brad Pitt, which lasted between 1994 and 1997, revealing that it was "huge love with first sight," when they first met on the set of Se7en.

Meanwhile, Paltrow also recalled how Pitt proposed to her in December 1996 after two years of dating.

"One night we were on the balcony of the house we had rented in this small town in Argentina ," said the actress. " I wish I could remember the exact words he said to me, but it was fantastic, I was moved. We had talked about it, but I was surprised at the moment, I remember that. I must have been 24.”

According to PEOPLE, the former couple called off their engagement just six months after Pitt proposed.

Paltrow revealed that she decided to end the relationship because she "needed to move on to other things."

The actress continued: “When I look back I was really a kid, really more so than most of the 22, 24-year-olds I meet now. I hadn't explored who I was, what was important to me, what my limits were."

Despite calling off the engagement, Paltrow said she was heartbroken by the split. "It was the right thing at the time, but it was really hard," she added. "He was nine years older than me, so he was a lot older ... he knew what he wanted."

Fast forward to 2023, and Paltrow is married to her current husband, producer Brad Falchuk.
