A well-known Brazilian influencer has passed away at the age of 29 after undergoing liposuction surgery.
*Liposuction: To remove fat from specific areas of the body, such as the stomach, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms or neck. Liposuction also shapes these areas. This process is called contouring.
Luana Andrade died on Tuesday in a hospital in Sao Paulo after an "aesthetic procedure".
Media reported that approximately two and a half hours after surgery at Hospital São Luiz on Monday, Andrade suffered a cardiac arrest and was taken to the ICU, but died on Tuesday morning.
"The patient Luana Andrade was admitted, accompanied by her family, on Monday afternoon in the unit for a liposuction procedure, performed by a private surgeon and anesthetist hired by the family", says a statement from the hospital, for Globo 1 .

"After about two and a half hours of surgery, the patient presented with a sudden respiratory complication and went into cardiac arrest."
The statement continued: "The operation was interrupted and the patient underwent tests that revealed massive thrombosis. She was transferred to the ICU, where she underwent medication and hemodynamic management."
