The group of robbers is suspected to have consisted of 4 people, who destroyed the wall of the pizzeria and then entered the BPM bank. The Italian media have described the group of perpetrators as a "gang of holes" who took 7 people hostage, then managed to open the safe from which they managed to get around 160 thousand euros.
