A mum has revealed she is taking her 12-year-old daughter out of school to focus on a career as a micro-influencer.
Kat Clark, from the Gold Coast in Queensland, has 5.2 million TikTok followers.
The 37-year-old hosts popular Austrian podcast Basically Besties with her daughters Latisha, 20, and Deja, 12, for whom Kat has 'very strict' parenting rules.
"Traditional schooling worked for Deja in elementary school because I had a corporate job," she said recently on the It's All Her podcast with Jody Lucas. " Since starting out in this new career, there's been a lot of traveling involved."
"Deja is even starting to get involved, so the 9-3, Monday to Friday schooling isn't working and we've had to pull her out of school . "
Kat shared that she has enrolled Deja for homeschooling for next year.
"We think this is the best for her because we don't want her to miss out on these opportunities. TikTok takes a lot of time. This thing works for our family.'
The mum claimed it was 'perfect timing' as Deja can return to traditional schooling a year later if she doesn't like the lifestyle.
Her other daughter, Latisha, graduated high school and initially enrolled in law school soon after — but dropped out six months later to pursue podcasting.
"With Deja, if she wanted to be a doctor or a lawyer - we would encourage her to go after those dreams. But currently these are not her goals. We are ready to work with him no matter what happens," said the mother.
Kat also revealed that she taught her daughters to "be themselves" and "not change for anyone."
