Prince Harry is unlikely to bring children Archie and Lilibet to the UK without his wife Meghan Markle's approval, according to a royal expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex retired from royal life in 2020 and are now based in Montecito, California, and it seems unlikely that they will return to their former lives. Meghan is also thought to be less than enthusiastic about visiting the UK, unlike husband Harry, who has traveled frequently since stepping down from royal duties four years ago.

Richard Fitzwilliams, the royal commentator, has said that a family reunion involving the youngest members of the Sussex family is unlikely to happen. Because the Duke is unlikely to bring them to the UK without the company of his wife.

He explained: It's up to Meghan. Harry wants to show that he is devoted to his family and puts them above everything else. If Meghan doesn't want to come, she would never be forced to. It would be extremely unlikely that Harry would come with the children without Meghan.

The comments followed after it was revealed that Prince Harry will visit the UK next month to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games in May and Meghan is unlikely to accompany him. Meghan has returned to the UK since the pair stepped back from their royal duties in 2020, only for rare occasions such as Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in 2022. However, she did not attend the coronation of King Charles III last year , which Harry attended, alone.

It is possible that the Duchess's reluctance to visit the UK is related to security concerns. It follows Prince Harry's legal battle with the Home Office and RAVEC, after security was lifted following his abdication. He expressed concern for the safety of himself, his wife and two children. He argued that state security must be ensured because of the threats and dangers they face.
