A serious event has shocked Kosovo, where 21-year-old Erona Cokli was killed by her 36-year-old ex-husband Valon Aliu.
The event took place inside the office of the Center for Social Work.
Witnesses in the event were the brother of the deceased, who was injured, and Adelina Rexhepi, the director of the Center for Social Work in Ferizaj.
She told the Kosovar media how the conflict started.
Ms. Rexhepi said that the suspect for Cokli's murder had gone to pick up the child and that he had no conflicts with his wife, but when he returned to the center, the conflict started, which ended in murder.
In reality, there were no conflicts, the husband came to pick up his child from 1:00 p.m., he discussed with those from the social work center, he took the son and went out, he came back and met his wife outside the institution his and both of them came back to the center and from there the conflict started. They were partners without a crown and they filed for divorce, - said Mrs. Rexhepi .
For this event, dozens of citizens marched yesterday afternoon, in the center of the capital of Kosovo, calling for the provision of security for girls and women.
In the march organized by the Collective for Feminist Thought and Action, protesters carried placards with inscriptions such as: 'Safety for girls and women', 'Our enemy is the patriarchy', 'How many missed calls?'
In a press release on Saturday, the Basic Court in Ferizaj said that the suspect had previously lived with the victim, and that there is reasonable suspicion that he 'knowingly committed the murder in the afternoon of April 12'.
The firearm was confiscated by the Kosovo Police.
Senior state officials have strongly condemned the killing and called for justice.
We inform you that about 56 women have been killed in Kosovo in the last 13 years.
