No more ice cream after midnight, but why?
Milan has decided to ban it by law due to disturbing the peace of the residents.
A legislative document has been filed by the city's local government, and if approved, eating ice cream could be banned by law next month.
Indeed, not only ice creams, but also other foods, such as pizzas, and even drinks.
But how is it done?
Whoever wants to eat or drink, must order it at home or sit at the bar to consume it.
This is done to avoid the noise from the queues or the adrenaline that a pizza or drink in hand causes.
The goal is to establish a balance between socialism, entertainment and peace and tranquility of the residents , - said Marco Granelli.
This proposal will be effective from mid-May to November.
It will start at 12:30 AM on weekdays and 1:30 AM on weekends and public holidays. Tables outside the premises will also be brought inside after this time.
Citizens have until the beginning of May to appeal and suggest changes to the law.
Where will this proposal be implemented?
You can find Nolo, Lazzaretto, Melzo, Isola, Sarpi, Via Cesariano, Arco della Pace, Como-GaeAulenti, Porta Garibaldi, Brera, Ticinese dhe Darsena-Navigli.
We remind you that this is not the first time that Milan tries to ban ice cream after midnight.
In 2013, then-mayor Giuliano Pisapia tried to introduce similar measures, but faced a backlash and eventually gave up. People can eat ice cream day and night, wherever they want , - he said.
Will it be the same this time?
